A Source of Photography Inspiration

It’s always neat to see some creativity put into something that is pretty commonly done. Well, this is not your standard senior portrait session. This student and photographer decided that being underwater, although maybe not the most clear photo environment, would definitely excel in the unique category.

Here are 32 great photos that were submitted to our Flickr group over the past week.

Lens & Learn is a project sponsored by Canon and Pictage that brought top photographers together to teach kids about photography at the Boys and Girls Club in Las Vegas. This is a wonderful feature and it’d be great to see more of this in the photography world. There is a great feeling and satisfaction in inspiring children to do something new in their life and photography is one of those things that kids just seem to love no matter what.

The tarantula is an arachnid who is usually considered not dangerous to humans. But with over 900 species identified, I’m sure one of them might have a scary bite. Then again, for some, just the looks of a tarantula may creep you out. On the flip side, these creatures make some awesome subjects for photography.

Photographs can tell powerful stories. To me, the black and white pictures just makes it even more so.

I love the Palouse and the constantly changing beauty it has throughout the year. There is something about the rolling hills, shadows, different shades of color, and the whole scene that it portrays. Check out the Palouse pictures post that was published a while back to see the amazingness I’m talking about.

I also love aviation and being out in the fields always reminds me of the crop dusters working.

A few weeks back we posted a few fun amusement park pictures. This clip features pictures from a photographer who went to the county fair in Middlesex County New Jersey on an August evening this summer. Cool pictures and the music fits well with the scene too.

With only the 3rd showcase, it’s already starting to become difficult to choose some of the best images being there are many talented photographers that are part of our Flickr group. If you haven’t been featured yet, keep submitting your best pictures and you may see one your photos show up in one of the showcases or inspirational subject posts.

With the end of summer approaching, some of you that live where there is a winter season may shed a tear or two when it’s time to put the motorcycle in the garage for a few months. Still, there is plenty of open road riding weather to do until the cold, wet, snowy weather kicks in. Then again, maybe some of you are hardcore enough to ride in anything that gets thrown at you. While you’re braving the elements, others will sit around dreaming of sunny skies or possibly looking at cool (black and white) motorcycle pictures like these.

This is a fun way to get some great photography from the sky. I especially like the custom camera setup that documents the flight.
