A couple of summers ago I had the opportunity to fly a float plane and get my seaplane pilot rating. It is by far the best flying I’ve ever done. Being up here in Alaska, seaplanes are everywhere. Anchorage boasts the largest seaplane base at Lake Hood and airplanes are relied on here more than any other place in the states and maybe the world. With the combination of water and the science of flight, seaplanes make great photo subjects. Here are 21 stellar pictures of seaplanes.

I fell in love with float planes while on a weekend getaway in Seattle WA. I so want to sell my my things and become a float plane pilot flying people to remote areas. These photos bring back some great memories.
