I call Photoshop on the Peace Church. I used to live around the corner from there, that background has been replaced. It’s actually on a busy street corner with a highway a hundred yards behind it in the photo’s direction.

Check out the link to the picture on Flickr. They did a bit of PS on the photo but I don’t think they replaced any backgrounds at all. That seems to be their claim anyhow. They linked a map to the location of the church and with the ground up angle, which alone cuts out a lot of ground background, and shooting towards the trees, you can see how they possibly pulled it off.

As for the Peace Church photo, I must say that the background has no doubt been replaced. Not only the whole scene has an “irreal” feel, but if you zoom in on the upper left zone (the tree), you can see for sure the sky has been replaced.

Ha, yeah, I was looking at the Devon Church. Not sure how I misread that. I think both of you are indeed correct about the Peace Church now that I look closer. The tree reference makes it pretty obvious. Thanks for pointing that out!

Wow, very impressing photographs! It’s a pity that the churches build nowadays aren’t as huge and impressive as they used to be.
