A Visual Arts major attending the University of Texas at Dallas, Lauren Marek credits her small town upbringing as a strong influence on her photography style. Currently shooting with a Nikon D40 (soon to be D300s) that is usually paired with a Sigma 30mm, Lauren captures memories in a unique way by attempting to blur the line between documentary and portrait photography. Her ever growing fan base on Flickr is a testament to how well liked and appreciated her pictures are among others.

Peter Nitsch – Shophouses – 4 x 8 m Bangkok

Beyond the skyscrapers and neon signs, which also increasingly oust the traditional cityscape of Bangkok, Peter Nitsch, the photographer-artist, who was born in Germany in 1973, grants us an intimate view of the retail businesses that are typical of Southeast Asia and the lives of their owners. For many of them the mostly two-story shop, that on the lower level is open to the street, is a workplace and living space in one.

Dale Graham – Of pharmacy and photography

A pharmacist by trade, 80 year old Dale Graham still pursues photography in his free time. With inspirations like Ansel Adams behind his work, Dale mainly works with film in black and white and you may have seen one of his photos, “Windmill on the Prairie”, in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
