A Source of Photography Inspiration

Originally from Germany, photographer Ronya Galka moved to London in the early 90s and has been capturing life on London’s streets ever since. The city inspires and fascinates her.

Audrey Simper is a fine art photographer from Chicago, Illinois. She specializes in creative portraits and uses digital retouching to create whimsical, story-telling images.

Claire Droppert is a freelance photographer and graphic designer based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She’s inspired by simplicity and minimalism, styles that are especially evident in her landscape photos. Her series Dutch Mountains and Silence bring out the neutral tones of natural scenery, with emphasis on the colors blue, white and gray.

Barbaros Cangürgel is a portrait and conceptual photographer from Izmir, Turkey. For portraits, he tends to photograph his models in natural settings, either in a forest or on the overgrown outskirts of a city. The way he frames his models among wilderness, within sunbeams or tree shadows, makes them seem like nymphs or fairy tale characters.

Alex Benetel is a 19-year-old fine art photographer from Sydney, Australia. Her imaginative portraits give a sense of being a dream or a mythical story by mixing real-world objects and settings with strange effects and juxtapositions.

Usually, a landscape photographer is satisfied with the majesty of nature itself. Mountains, forests and lakes often inspire enough awe on their own. However, Barry Underwood has shown that landscapes can be made even more interesting with a little imagination.

Bruges, Brugge or Brügge – however you spell the place, it’s one of the prettiest cities in Belgium. Alina Drobner, a wedding photographer from Hamburg, Germany, took a trip to Bruges last year and captured the city at its best.

Felix Schmidt is a 20-year-old German photographer who focuses on macro shots and long exposures. Although Computer Science is his main study, he rarely leaves home without a camera, too.

Tony Gigov is a photographer from Vienna, Austria, who specializes in portraits–both of people and dogs. While his photography business relies mostly on the ‘people’ part, he’s been gathering an impressive portfolio of dog portraits, as well.

Photographer Giovanna Santinolli lives in Genova, Italy, a city known for its rich history and culture. While there are certainly enough sights in Genova to keep a photographer occupied for months, Giovanna has taken a different route. Using old-fashioned cameras and film, especially of the Polaroid variety, she photographs landscapes, people and objects, giving each a nostalgic hue.
