A Source of Photography Inspiration

Justin Earsing finds his photography subjects in curious and sometimes spooky places–abandoned insane asylums. Ever since he was a kid, he’s been fascinated by the history of asylums, particularly how their role in American culture has changed.

Cheyne Gallarde is the photographer behind the Hawaiian business Firebird Photography. Located in Honolulu, Cheyne and his assistants specialize in creating retro and vintage-style photos, especially from mid-20th century. They base their work on ads and icons, but are also inspired by films, fashion, and even literature.

Tomasz Wieja was born in Poznan, Poland and studied photography in The Netherlands, at the Fotoacademie in Rotterdam. He uses photography as a way to express emotions and explore the human psyche. His series ‘Blue’, which was recently exhibited in Warsaw, examines the introspective aspect of human existence, either by placing lonely figures against a shade of blue or by focusing on blue scenery, such as the sky.

Adrienne Andersen is a fashion and beauty photographer from Tampa, Florida. She loves femininity and, in particular, female faces. Her series ‘Red Light Project‘ combines these two interests and highlights the sultry side of femininity, placing petite, bare-skinned models against a red glow.

Matthias Hombauer is a music/portrait photographer from Vienna, Austria who is exclusively working for bands, magazines and music labels. He believes that film is still superior in the digital age and is using an analog medium format camera to capture the magical moments of Indie and Rockstars.

Chris Martin is a professional photographer from West Balm Beach, Florida, who specializes in wedding, commercial and creative portrait photography. He loves challenges and actively takes on new projects that reach beyond his experience. For example, his abstract series ‘Cracked Ice’ began when he was commissioned to produce art pieces around the theme of ‘ice’.

Carey Nershi is the photographer and writer behind the food blog Reclaiming Provincial. While Carey’s blog focuses primarily on the ‘provincial’ tradition of local ingredients, seasonal recipes and basic homemade foods, what makes her blog so memorable is its beautiful photography.

Mark ‘Bleeblu’ Harless bought his first camera in 2011, at age 23, with no background in art. ‘I grew up without an artistic bone in my body,’ he says, although he admits to being a dreamer, thinker and general introvert. Photography has taught him a great deal about himself, his mind and creativity.

Scott Bass is a photographer from Cambridge, UK who has over seven years experience in Parkour with the majority of his photographic work centering around these arts of movement. Being able to capture motion in a dynamic way, which displays the beauty and skill involved is a key focus Scott has in his photos.

Gerald Berghammer was born and raised in Upper Austria and currently lives in Vienna, but his landscape photography is by no means limited to Austrian alps and farmland. In fact, his interest in photography originally began while he was traveling overseas, when he wanted to capture what he was seeing and experiencing.
