A Source of Photography Inspiration

WaterPixels is a creative time-lapse video of 900 ice cubes and a bit of color. It was directed by Laurent Pratlong and shot with a Canon 5D Mark II. Original music by Vincent Girault.

This is Henry Jun Wah Lee’s time-lapse showreel of his journeys in nature from 2009-2011. You’ll see these places in order of appearance: Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, Mono Lake, Joshua Tree National Park, Alabama Hills, Lunar Eclipse of December 2010, Monument Valley, Salton Sea, Tuscon, Arizona, Jeju Island, Yosemite National Park, Petrified Forest National Park, Death Valley National Park, and Horseshoe Bend.

This is a beautiful time-lapse put together by Cole Gentry taken from the Earth’s Observing System (EOS) with a Nikon D3S. There are quite a few of these out there now but the view from above never gets old.

Within Two Worlds depicts an alternate perspective by giving us the illusion of times movement, signifying a beginning and end within a world of constant contradiction. It appears you are traveling in the midst of a dream, half-sleeping, half-waking, and touching the arch connecting heaven and earth.

This is a beautifully done time-lapse/stop motion by Mayeul Akpovi of one of my favorite cities, Paris.

The Moody City is Clem Levin’s first time-lapse, and I’d say it turned out pretty good. The time-lapse features Tokyo in motion and was shot while Clem was a student there for year.

Daniel Kelly Brown has a talent for putting together a great time-lapse. One of his most recent ones was shot around the Great Sand Dunes and Independent Pass in Colorado where he was able to pick up aurora borealis (the northern lights).

Thomas brown shot this landscape astrophotography time-lapse on the NSW Mid North Coast of Australia in the Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour’s surrounding area over a couple of months.
