A Source of Photography Inspiration

This is crazy awesome. François Vautier put an ant colony into his scanner and scanned the nest once a week for 5 years. He created an incredible time-lapse of this project with some sweet music by Infected Mushroom.

This time-lapse caught my eye with it’s great music, sweet effects, and an amazing beach scene. Directed by Berkanism, 2600 photos were shot with a 5D Mark II for this project. I think my absolute favorite thing in this time-lapse is the moving clouds.

This is a neat short time lapse clip of the early morning fog lifting when the sun comes up. Although it can be hard to get it up really early to catch these ideal moments, many times it’s totally worth catching one of the best times of days for photography.

These are two 5 second interval time lapse presentations of the NJ GS Parkway. The first one is done with the Nikon D5000 while the second one is done with the Nikon D200.

Take around 5000 shots in intervals of around 4-8 seconds of the Montreal skyline and this is what you get. Very cool.

Ever seen one of those videos where someone takes a picture of themselves for a year or two? This guy did 8 years. Now that’s dedication.

This is an awesome time-lapse video that takes the same shot and shows the changes over the course of 1 year. Might be a neat project to start around your own home.

Christoph Rehage embarked on a long journey. He decided that walking around 4500 km across China, from Beijing to Ürümqi, would be more exciting if he also didn’t shave or cut his hair for over the year he did it in.
