Many times we tend to want to do our own thing in life. We ignore speed limits, health warnings, doctor orders, parent advice, and many other seemingly frivolous cautions that we seem to either know a better way or want to take the heeded advice later. About the only thing in life you really can’t ignore the warning of is a lighthouse. They are pretty much right on 100% of the time. I’ve never been a captain of a ship, but I probably don’t have to guess that one of the best assurances close to shore in a storm is the beam of caution from a lighthouse.
