Nature is never an old subject when it comes to photography. It’s constantly changing, moving, and it’s hard to duplicate it’s natural beauty in the manmade world. Birds in particular are very beautiful, especially inflight. Usually it takes a fast shutter speed, telephoto lens, and some great focusing techniques to catch them just right. Then again, sometimes it just takes pointing whatever you have in your hands and hoping it turns out. Here are 20 fantastic pictures of birds flying that turned out great.

I love going on trips to different countries and just walking around seeing the sights, eating the food, and soaking up the culture while taking photographs the whole tim. Steven Goovaerts took a trip to Lisboa, Portugal and did all of that. His camera of choice was the D700 and he decided to only use a 50mm lens for all 6 days he was there. Some interesting and beautiful shots in this feature.

Sometimes photography inspiration can run thin and you find yourself perplexed on what to shoot, how to motivate yourself for that next project, or create an image that is beyond unique.
Take a walk, a breath, a day off, or whatever it takes to refresh your creative thoughts. For me, some of the best creative moments happen when I take a step back and relax a bit.

Today we are spoiled with digital photography, social media, and an advancing technology that literally let’s us create some fantastic color or black and white photos from just about anywhere in the world and share them with anybody. In the 1930′s and 1940′s, black and white was the standard depiction of photos and cameras weren’t exactly widely used by everyone. Being able to find some great old photos is always very interesting, especially if they are in color.
