For most people, going out clubbing means drinking and dancing, but for a photographer like David White, it’s an opportunity to take great pictures. Photography in dark bars and clubs can be challenging, but David manages it well.

Alexandre Chamelat is a French photography student from Toulouse. His latest project, Calotype Numérique, is a collection of digital black-and-white portraits imitating the style of 19th-century photos.

Beautiful and fleeting, ripples in water exist for only a few magical moments. They do offer up some warning before they arrive though, often with a ‘splash’, ‘ker-plunk’, or ‘plop’ noise. As with water droplets, photographing ripples takes some skill and a good sense of timing.
