The Surreal Photo Artist: Dariusz Klimczak
- By: Chaz Curry
I was born in Sieradz (Poland) 1967. Photography for the last 25 years has been an important part of my life, but it’s become a true passion few years ago. I’m interested in creative photography – manipulated, but in a measures of reason. I prefer square frames & black and white pictures, but don’t shun colours. My photomanipulative work seeks mood, joke, and universal symbols, which can strike or make the viewer contemplate or laugh.

Great photos
But not all are manipulated, is that correct? ‘Between’ and ‘Going Home’ look like genuine photos.

Hi Matt. Correct, not all of the images I posted are manipulated.
To make his art, he has to start with an exquisite photo, so it’s no secret that his photography skills are extremely high. …and when you start manipulating the photos, you have to pay extra careful attention to how the light is falling on subject/objects in the shot.

I’ve seen a lot of manipulated photographs – in fact, I’ve done a lot of them myself – but these are the best conceived, best executed ones I have EVER seen. Brilliant, unique, innovative work – and for another artist like me, truly inspiring.

This is pure genius! It almost seems like it’s bordering on abstract art…but yet so genuine and beautiful! Such an inspiration to me!

I love the images (very inspiring). His attention to detail and being able to coordinate the light and shadows is awesome.

Thought provoking, out of the box, awesome work. While it’s not the style of photography I personally do, it’s amazing in it’s own right. I love seeing what others are doing with the medium. Thank you.
